Georgia Whitetail Deer hunting bow season…September 13 – October 10, Statewide

Twelve (12) per season, Statewide
No more than ten (10) may be antlerless and no more than two (2) may be antlered. One of the antlered deer must have at least 4 points, one inch or longer, on one side of the antlers.




Georgia Extended Archery Whitetail Deer Hunting Season, Either Sex only for Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett & Rockdale….January 2 – 31

Georgia Primitive Weapons whitetail deer hunting season, Either sex…October 11 – 17, Statewide

Georgia Firearms Whitetail Deer Hunting Season:…Northern Zone…October 18 – January 1
Southern Zone…October 18 – January 15

Firearms deer hunting is not allowed in Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton (north of GA Hwy. 92), and that portion of Glynn county lying within Jekyll Island. In the portion of Forsyth county south of GA Hwy. 20, only shotguns and muzzleloaders may be used (no other firearms allowed). In Hancock, Harris, Meriwether, Montgomery, Randolph, Talbot and Troup counties, only antlered bucks with at least 4 points on either side are legal. In Dooly and Macon counties, antlered bucks must have a minimum 15-inch outside spread.

Georgia Youth Waterfowl Days….Nov. 15-16

Only youth 15 years of age or less may hunt ducks, coots, gallinules, mergansers, sea ducks, Canada geese and snow geese on these days.
An adult at least 18 years of age must accompany the youth into the field but may not hunt.
Early TEAL Season: Sept. 13-28
Daily bag limit is 6 teal (any combination of blue- and green-winged teal; 18 in possession).

The season is closed for harlequin ducks.
